Tara B. Piechowicz

Tara brings more than a decade of health and human services policy and administration experience to GSL’s clients. She was a Deputy Chief of Staff in Tom Wolf’s Administration overseeing the health and human services agencies. She also served as Deputy Secretary of the Governor’s Office of Policy and Planning and prior to that, Policy Director for the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services.

Tara advises health care providers, educational institutions, nonprofit organizations and private sector partners on public policy, government relations, workforce development and public funding opportunities. She is particularly recognized for her work in health care workforce strategy, Medicaid policy, behavioral health and the design and implementation of public-private partnerships that address public health challenges.

Drawing on her experience leading complex cross-sector initiatives, Tara helps clients navigate state and federal policy environments, develop innovative workforce solutions, secure and implement public funding and build partnerships among employers and government agencies.

Prior to joining the Governor’s Administration, Tara was the Director of Government Affairs and Public Policy for the Pennsylvania Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers. She also practiced as a licensed social worker in Central Pennsylvania.
