John C. Bear and Michael D. Brunelle Named Among the 2024 “Pennsylvania Power 100” by City & State PA

HARRISBURG, PA, April 25, 2024 – GSL Public Strategies Group announced that CEO and Chief Innovation Officer John C. Bear and President and Chief Strategy Officer Michael D. Brunelle have been named among the “Pennsylvania Power 100” by City & State PA

The “Pennsylvania Power 100” distinguishes the most influential players in Pennsylvania, from politicians and lawmakers to government administrators, political consultants and business leaders who work with the Commonwealth. Mr. Bear and Mr. Brunelle are recognized for building GSL Public Strategies Group into a “government consulting powerhouse.” Mr. Bear is identified as an influential figure and a well-regarded former three-term state representative and current Manheim Township Commissioner. He was also named to City & State PA’s “Pennsylvania Power 100” and “Fifty Over 50” lists in 2023. Mr. Brunelle is recognized for expanding GSL’s public affairs arm and has notable experience as former chief of staff to Gov. Tom Wolf and Amazon’s former U.S. political director. In February, he was named to City and State PA’s “Who’s Who in Government Relations” for his skill in shaping Pennsylvania legislation.

He also advises private companies seeking to do business with, locate to or receive assistance from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania; assists clients in developing new state programs or amending existing ones to address specific unmet business needs; provides revenue and operational consulting services to state and local governments to develop creative ways to save money or create new funding streams; and helps private and public sector clients identify, secure and implement grants from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Mr. Brunelle has an extensive background in legislative leadership. Serving as Chief of Staff to the Office of Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf, he worked with a wide range of public and private stakeholders and advised the Governor in strategic political, policy, legislative, communications and intergovernmental affairs. He has led various multi-billion-dollar budget negotiations and key legislative reforms in areas that include pensions, criminal law, health care, education, election law and school safety, among others.
